"so if you wanna see more of it please buy the game"
What happened to making a project because you were passionate about it? Why even start developing it if you're just going to throw in the towel because you don't make enough money?
You're also asking 12.50$ for a v0.1 of a game that you're openly saying you will not finish if it doesn't make enough. That's tantamount to a scam. Why ANY of this?
this is in fact my job. it's not like I'm quitting making games. this game would be priced as such regardless because it does take that much time to make. if people aren't interested in seeing more of this game buy paying then I cannot spend 100 hours making an update. also it's only 12.50 if you buy the game outright, if you wanna join my patreon for 3.50 download the game and cancel things that's fine. plus ignoring all that the game is free, no one is forcing you to pay for any of my games and you can get a solid amount of time in all of them without paying anything.
bottom line is, making this game isnt sustainable with nothing and it does need funding to exist
I'm not gonna take anyone's side here specifically. But I do slightly see the point of Playful's argument. I'm not gonna be an azz and say it's 'tantamount to a scam'. But I do think for a brand new demo build game. The price of 12$ is kind of wild, regardless of whether or not it's for purposefully supporting a games development.
That being said i've not the slightest clue how to even make a single line of code. Let alone program and build a game. So obviously, making a game, by your lonesome even. Can certainly be a challenge. So spending 12$ is probably cheap in some other games cases.
Long story short. I think it might be better to lower the price even by a dollar or 2. It can be a real jaw dropper to try and support someone and their already asking for over 10$.
That being said I'm spending 12$ and supporting this game. Because it looks neat and I absolutely want to support it. I hope your game gets the support it needs Yua Nizu
I post about this stuff in discord, drawing the graphics for the walls took 3 hours and the current project use time is at 19 days(which includes some afk time from forgetting to turn my pc to sleep and also eating). as for it being a "new game", I think the other games I've posted on here before show that I am capable of keeping my promises and my fans know that the story of all my games link between each other and what that can mean for a "new" project. also as for why the price is what it is. it's based on 4 months of being on my patreon, so 4 updates worth of content. already if you get all the characters to 125 rep that'd take a good few hours so 4x that plus other factors(like other features that get added or the amount of time spent getting to higher teirs of gear taking longer). if the game doesn't get to that point, then I would hope that anyone who did buy the game either enjoy it enough to replay for value(which is why rolling stats is an option) and that they are financially able to do so.
side tangent, according to my analytics the price of a game makes 0 difference in what % of people buy a game. which I absolutely hate, actually counting patreon sales into it this game currently is sitting at the highest click/sale%. really hoping that itch doesn't decide to skew my over on updates by not bumping it to new, if it doesn't then I should be fine to work on this for 3 more updates at least
